Turkish Media's Directive Roles in Coups or Panic Moods

Turkish media has been very effective about drawing up the agenda and affecting people. It does not only conduct and canalize people, but also do them on government and army. The opinion leaders, intellectuals, and other educated people can make a new view point. There is no doubt, visual media is more effective than print media, however the aspect that Turkey Republic lived, were able only to be given them by radio. On the other hand, the news also can be against the coup which is about to come.

Partisanship or neutrality of media is another discussion topic. Different variations of media powers show us that media can be near or against government and/or army. Media enforces different types of politic according to the actions’ processes, dramatizes or pushes down.

Recently, media’s attitudes have changed because of the technological developments. The actions which have repercussions branch by television and internet quicker and in more different ways. Especially internet introduces us to answer the news and appreciate it.
